HoloBrick follows up on the previous semester’s CyArc HoloClay course, experimenting with augmented reality to carve clay. This semester, students developed an algorithm to translate bitmap images into 3d brick assembly systems using Rhino 3D and Grasshopper 3D in connection with the Microsoft Hololens and the Fologram plugin for McNeel’s tools.

The students carved the bricks using digital files and assembled the units to demonstrate adapting the design and fabrication process using intuitive cybercrafting methods.
